The hysterical nonsense surrounding Obama's birth is odd because it distracts people from the *real* issue to be worried about with this administration - massive uncontrolled spending that will saddle kids with massive debt for generations.

The Dems must LOVE the "birthers" debates because they are 1.Dumb 2.Wrong 3.Much easier to counter than good questions like "Where is are the trillions and trillions in borrowing going and how can our kids possible repay all that without hyperinflation?"

It's simple Obama should produce the actual birth certificate - PERIOD.

He can show it in court for the judge and the attorney's eyes only - cases are handled like this all the time. Even though the judge and attorneys cannot discuss the specifics of the certificate itself they can certainly issue a joint statement stating whether or not there is anything to this story.

Obama and the Democrats promised transparency if they were given the chance now it is time for Obama to show true leadership and demonstrate that not even him is above transparency.

From various sources it has been reported that Obama has spent over $1,000,000 keep this and other pertinent records about his past hidden from public inspection...doesn't that bother anyone?

This is the guy who has the finger on the button, is spending us into oblivion and his grandiose ideas just aren't working - since the media isn't doing their job don't you think we deserve to know?

Don't you think we deserve better than what we are getting?

I think most Americans just want the truth. So far we haven't been getting much about anything - we are not sheeple we can think and make decisions for ourselves but we need proper information to make sound prudent decisions on whether to support a candidate or their ideas.

I KNOW the person whose signature is on the copy of the document. He is above reproach, and not the kind who would put his signature on a false document no matter how much money or fame was at stake.

Furthermore - McCain was born IN PANAMA. Since McCain's mother was of US citizenship, and Obama's mother was of US Citizenship, They are BOTH considered citizens of the United States. That's how it works. Read your constitution. The entire conversation is a moot point and really really really stupid.

I am not crazy about the stimulus plan - i think it should have been divvied up amongst all the small business concerns throughout the US. I don't like that NONE of Obama's cabinet have ever had to meet payroll. I really don't like some of the arrogance and snobbery about "rubes" that I've seen in the Obama camp.

But focusing on his citizenship is a humongous waste of time and energy, and Limbaugh and his ilk should just knock it off and use their time a little better. OMG - Get a LIFE!

First, the Certification of Live Birth is a real birth certificate. In fact, it is the ONLY birth certificate that Hawaii now issues to people who ask for copies of their birth certificate. (http://www.starbulletin.com/features/20090606_kokua_line.html)

That being the case, unless Obama has a copy of the original birth certificate sent to his parents, and not lost it (and many of us do lose our original birth certificates, particularly during moves), then all that he can show is what Hawaii sent him, and Hawaii sends out only the Certification of Live Birth.
